主讲人简介：

陈晓非，地球与空间科学系主任，讲席教授，教育部长江学者特聘教授，中国科学院院士。中国科学技术大学学士（1982），美国南加州大学博士（1991）。1996年回国工作，曾先后任教于北京大学和中国科学技术大学，2016年加盟南方科技大学。曾获何梁何利科技进步奖（2009），是国际大地测量与地球物理联合会会士（2015），2017年获ACM Gorden Bell Prize，目前担任中国地球物理学会理事长。一直从事地球物理学教学与科研工作，主要研究方向为理论与计算地球物理学、地球动力学及其在防震减灾和资源勘探领域的应用。发表论文150余篇，培养硕博士60余名，曾主持国家自然科学基金会杰青项目、重点项目、国际（地区）合作项目、重大项目课题以及科技部973项目课题等科研项目20余项。

Chen Xiaofei, an Academician, will bring you the 6th lecture of "Modern Technology and Patriotism" at 16:20 on April 22(this Thursday).

The lecture will be located at Auditorium of Research Building 1 . All are welcome!

Speaker:

Chen Xiaofei is the Dean of the Department of Earth and Space Sciences, a Chair Professor, a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor of the Ministry of Education, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He got a bachelor degree in USTC (1982), and a doctor degree in University of Southern California (1991). He returned to work in China in 1996 and taught at Peking University and the University of Science and Technology of China. In 2016, he joined Southern University of Science and Technology. He has won the He Liang He Li Science and Technology Progress Award (2009). As a Fellow of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (2015), he won ACM Gorden Bell Prize in 2017 and currently serves as the chairman of the Chinese Geophysical Society. He has been engaged in geophysics teaching and scientific research. The main research directions are theoretical and computational geophysics, geodynamics and their applications in the fields of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction and resource exploration. He has published more than 150 papers and trained more than 60 masters and doctors. He has presided over more than 20 scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Outstanding Youth Projects, Key Projects, International (Regional) Cooperation Projects, Major Projects and 973 Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
