5月13日（本周四）下午16:20，孟庆虎院士将在第一科研楼报告厅为大家带来《现代科技与家国情怀》特色思政课第二期第九讲——《用好资源，筑梦南科，放飞自我！》，欢迎全校师生前来聆听。

主讲人简介：

孟庆虎，加拿大工程院院士，Fellow of IEEE，广东省高尖端人才，深圳市杰出人才。1992 年获加拿大维多利亚大学博士学位。1994-2004 年在加拿大阿尔伯塔大学任教至终身正教授。2001 年起任香港中文大学教授，2016年起任香港中文大学电子工程学系主任。2020年起任南方科技大学电子与电气工程系讲席教授、系主任。研究领域涉及机器人感知与智能，智慧医疗，及稠密人群动态环境中的人机交互与操作等。多个研究课题在国际上独创建树，国际领先。担任多个国际学术期刊主编和编委，以及国际会议大会主席，包括即将于今年六月初在西安举办的国际机器人与自动化领域旗舰会议 IEEE ICRA 2021 大会主席。

Meng Qinghu, an Academician, will bring you the 9th lecture of "Modern Technology and Patriotism" at 16:20 on May 13 (this Thursday).

The lecture will be located at Auditorium of Research Building 1 . All are welcome!

Speaker:

Meng Qinghu is an Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of IEEE, a Top Talent of Guangdong Province and an Outstanding Talent of Shenzhen. In 1992, he got a doctorate degree from the University of Victoria, Canada . From 1994 to 2004, he taught at the University of Alberta in Canada as a tenured professor. Since 2001, he has been a professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and since 2016, he has been the dean of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. From 2020, he has been the chair professor and head of the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering of Southern University of Science and Technology. His researches involve in robot perception and intelligence, smart medical care, and human-computer interaction and operation in a dense crowd dynamic environment. Many of his research topics have innovative achievements and are at international leading level. He serves as the editor-in-chief and editorial board member of many international academic journals, as well as the chairman of international conferences, including the chairman of the IEEE ICRA 2021 conference, which will be held in Xi'an in early June this year.
